Regular classes are scheduled for 2 hours. Private events are available for 2.5 blocks, and 8-week sessions consist of 2 hour classes plus additional Open Studio hours throughout the week.

Yes! We offer all types of individualized and personalized custom classes for each of our guest’s specific needs. If you’re not seeing something you need/want to be offered, we can likely accommodate you with an instructor who specializes in your request.

We are an appointment-based studio and reservations are required to attend sessions. All reservations are booked through our online scheduling portal found on our Scheduling page.

Yes.  Our classes are all booked by the  individual seat.  For one person, select Quantity 1, for two people, Quantity 2, etc.

Unfortunately we don’t have the capacity to store work for months on end. We do have a 3 month pickup period for finished work. If it’s been more than 3 months, it’s almost certain that your pieces have been recycled. For future pieces, if you’re unable to make it in the pickup window, give us a call to talk about shipping options to have your pieces mailed directly to you.

Yes! Finished work can be picked up 3 weeks after your initial visit to Yay Clay! Use our Scheduling link to schedule a time for your contactless pickup. Please keep in mind that we cannot store pieces for more than 3 months.

$15 per piece

Finished pieces will be ready for pick up 4 weeks after your visit. Sign up for your pick up the day of your class, or we can ship pieces directly to you.

You certainly can. All works will be food, oven, dishwasher, and microwave safe.

Yes! We want your event to be perfect so we allow for time before and after the class to set up/take down decorations.

Yes! When setting up your event with a Yay Clay! Coordinator, please let them know of your requests and our coordinator will help to provide this as an add-on option.

Yes! We offer a complimentary audio/video package as a part of all Yay Clay! experiences in our spaces. We offer a large 15 ft. projector/screen, as well as the use of our state-of-the-art audio equipment and streaming music.

Yes! We can fire pieces made a long time ago, just give us a call to talk about your options.

Yes! After being fired in our clay ovens, the food-safe, non-toxic glaze is applied. Pieces are food, oven, dishwasher, and microwave safe.

No, all studio clay and glazes are lead-free. All pieces are all food-safe when fired.

We’re typically in the studio from 10am-10pm every day of the week, however, these are not set hours. We’re an appointment-based studio, and all reservations are booked through our Scheduling page.

Yes! We welcome you to bring beverages to any class or event. Note: You may only bring food if hosting a private event with us, as this will require additional time for proper time to set up and clean up, please plan accordingly. We also do not eat at or near the wheels.

Nope, all skill levels are welcomed and encouraged here at Yay Clay! 99% of all new visitors to our space have never touched clay before.

We strive to make the pottery-making experience as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. Throwing does require skill and coordination, and our amazing teachers will ensure that you come away having made a piece that you’re proud of.

Yes! This is why we created this space! We aim to make this form of art expression accessible to all. All skill levels will excel with our unique approach to pottery wheel throwing.

Yes! While longer nails do indeed make it more challenging to handle clay, our skilled staff has tools and special training on how to best assist you in ensuring a successful throwing experience.

Mistakes happen, and often. So no worries! Our skilled teachers know exactly how to handle each aspect of the throwing process and can get you back up and caught up quickly.

Typically, each guest will get between 2-3 pounds of clay to use per project. We find this is a good amount to start with for those who are new to wheel-throwing.

You may get a little clay on your clothes, but good news, it’s just mud and comes right out with a little bit of water. Our clay won’t stain your clothes and we do provide smocks/aprons to all guests to keep you as clean as possible.

We take the safety of our staff and guests very seriously, which is why we pride ourselves on having one of the cleanest art studio spaces in the country. With clean air HEPA filters running, strictly enforced mopping and dusting schedules, and daily check-in/check-out cleaning checklists, we can ensure an environment in which you can create in without having to worry about cleanliness.

Yes, children of all ages are welcome. Aren’t we all kids at heart anyway? If you do bring young children to the studio, please be mindful of the fact that the kilns are often on and can reach temperatures in excess of 2300F. We put up a barrier with clear signage, but we still strive to be careful around the kilns.

Yes. We can create specific classes geared toward mommy/daddy and me clay experiences. Wheel-throwing is best for children over the age of 6 but we’ve worked with children as young as 4.
