Honestly, best day ever totally worth the money and not hard at all. I had fun and so did my husband. Best place to take pictures and make awesome memories. Andrew was our teacher for the session and he was amazing. He was very kind and a great teacher honestly didn’t expect this to be a 10 but it totally was. it’s a must stop if you’re visiting Philadelphia.
Had my birthday party here and Devin made the class so fun and made sure we were all happy with our final products. I accidentally punched a hole through the entire base of my dish and Devin was able to quickly revive the base like magic. Would highly recommend for any adult birthday event; we had our music, cake, champagne, and photos exactly how we wanted.
We booked for a private party and we had so much fun!! The studio is AMAZING, our instructor (Clare?) was so very kind, generous, encouraging, and really made sure we had a great time! Not all of us who went had experience with clay but the session was tailored to accommodate our different levels, and we were all saying how awesome it was that we get to do so much within just 3 hours! We were definitely really glad that we decided to do this – we had so much fun that a few of us were so inspired to take the class / do this again hehe. Rates were affordable too!! I went for my birthday with a group of 11 people (including myself).
The whole process from beginning (getting information, booking, adding more guests) to the end (getting there, making pottery) was so easy because the Yay Clay team was so nice and accommodating the whole time. I needed to change my numbers from 8 guest to 11 guest the week before and they were really accommodating to that. The Yay Clay team was there to answer questions about charges, parking.
I hosted my birthday party at Yay Clay in the Retro Room. It was super spacious and really nicely decorated. There was plenty of space to set up food and a fridge for beverages since it’s BYO. Also plenty of space for everyone to hang out and be comfortable! Danielle and Tori were our instructors, and they did an amazing job of making sure we all made great functional pottery pieces. It was most of our first times, and everyone’s pieces looked awesome at the end! A really fun experience overall.
I went here for a friend’s birthday party and I have to tell you it was one of the best parties ever. The instructors were awesome and I left with a fancy bowl ???? definitely great group activity.

Yes, you are welcome to bring food, drinks, and cake to Private Events
We can host between 8 to 24 people in one studio, and up to 48 people across both studios. If you have more people, please contact us at info@yayclay.com for options.
If you are unsure of your group size, you can book the appointment based on an estimated group size. We need a final headcount one week before the event and we can adjust the balance due at the time of the appointment to reflect your updated headcount. Please keep in mind we have a minimum group size of 8 people.
Absolutely! We can create a custom stamp for your group and decorate the pieces in custom colors. Contact us at info@yayclay.com for details.
Yes! You are welcome to come 15-20 minutes early to the event to set up decorations. Please contact us before the event if you plan to come early to set up.
You can either schedule a time to pick up your finished work or arrange to have them shipped for an additional fee.
We can ship your pottery locally for $15 per piece. Shipping long distances may incur additional postage costs. We do not ship internationally.
A reservation can be held for 24 hours in case you need clarifications from our staff about your event. You will need to place a deposit within 24 hours to hold your reservation.
Both rooms require a 50% deposit to book a private event.
The deposit is refundable if the event is cancelled at least one week before the start of the class.
Yes. The Green Room has two Multicades and a Pinball Machine. The Retro Room has a Multicade, an original Asteroids, and a Claw Machine. You are welcome to play them for free during Private Events.
No, each person can make their own vessel. The instructor will walk you through shaping forms like cups, mugs, bowls, and small vases.
No, we have no age limits for our classes. If you are planning an event for children 10 years old or younger, please contact us. Young children may have a little more trouble on the pottery wheel, but can adjust the class to suit their abilities.
