Bottle/ Glass Slumping

world-icon

A great way to up-cycle glass beer and wine bottles!

We offer bottle & glass slumping as a way to recycle and reuse. Turn your empty glass bottles into trays, dishes, or wall-hanging decorations

Kiln

$125 gives you the use of a large 10 cubic foot kiln which holds as many bottles as you can fit (i.e. )12-15 750 ml bottles. We also offer glass slumping in our 6.7 cubic foot kiln for $85 per firing. Our staff will load and fire the kilns for you.

BYOB

When you are bringing your own bottles, ensure that they’re completely free of labels, stickers, and moisture. Some, but not all fired on decals will show through the firing process. The only way to be certain is to test them.

Molds

Molds can be used to shape slumped bottles into spoon rests and dishes or you can simply slump glass bottles flat. Our molds cost $5/each.

We can do the work!

Don’t want to do the work yourself? We can ship slumped bottles of different types and sizes directly to you. Pricing is based on the specifics of your uniquely specified needs.

My husband surprised me with a Yay Clay date night for Valentine’s Day and it was a wonderful gift! I love arts and craft type stuff like this, but pottery wasn’t anything I’ve ever tried before. Yay Clay, especially the date night, is the perfect forum to try it out.
The space is in the old Loom building in Harrowgate. Not the nicest of neighborhoods but it didn’t scare this hood rat away. The building is actually really cool to check out and seems to have a lot of neat stuff going on inside.
The date night is BYOB which we definitely took advantage of, along with their little game section. However once the clay shaping starts your hands will be too messy to do any of these things so get it in before you start.

This was fun and surprisingly easy!

Such a fun time! Devin was so nice and helpful in creating my masterpiece!!!!! Yay clay is easy to find and a fun time for everyone. Great teaching and got me hooked to sculpting.

I think it’s a great date night, girls night, or mom/daughter type activity to do together! It’s fun, new, different and who can say no to BYOB? I will say that the BYOB aspect is difficult for the first visit. It’s tough to take a sip of your drink when your hands are covered in clay. We found that we were only able to drink either before we started our piece, or after we completed shaping it.
